Ah, that crazy mixed up girl on the same train every day… who would’ve thought THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN by Paula Hawkins was an ‘I couldn’t put it down and finished it in 2 sittings’ book? The story revolves around a specific train and stretch of track that runs along the back of a strip of properties in Blenheim Rd.
The protagonist, Rachael is a very well portrayed alcoholic and her life is flushing down the toilet. As she travels on the train each day to London (to the job she has been fired from but no one knows) she imagines life for those she sees across the fence, in their backyards, in her old backyard.
One day she sees something that will bring her crashing into the lives of two of the families on that street. A wonderful read and beautifully written. I loved it.
